The lottery will start on Wednesday in the auditorium of the District Collector Office in Jaipur Collectorate. Its results will determine category-wise reservation for seats and posts and may force potential candidates to change their election plans.
According to Jaipur District Collector (Panchayat) Sandesh Nayak, the process of reservation and category-wise allocation is being done as per the guidelines set for Panchayati Raj general elections.
This district-level process will include the posts of Zilla Parishad members, Panchayat Samiti Pradhans and Panchayat Samiti members in Jaipur district.
During the lottery, posts will be allotted to fixed reservation categories, such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and women.
The concerned officers and employees have been instructed to complete all preparations for this process. After the completion of the process, it will be clear to the candidates and political parties for which seats and posts they can contest.
The reservation process will proceed at the Gram Panchayat level on Thursday, September 24. Reservation and category-wise allotment for the posts of Sarpanch and Ward Panch in all the Gram Panchayats of Jaipur district will be done at the respective Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) headquarters.
The concerned SDO has been instructed to complete the process as per the guidelines issued by the department. The reservation status of the posts of Sarpanch and Ward Panch for SC, ST, OBC and women categories will be decided through lottery.
This two-day reservation process is important for those who are preparing to contest Panchayati Raj elections. Many potential candidates are preparing for the elections on the basis of their probable seats and posts.
Reservation status may decide whether they will be eligible to contest from the seat of their choice or will have to consider some other option.
After the completion of the reservation process, political parties will also get a clear picture about their potential candidates. Reservation of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti seats and posts will be decided on September 23, while category-wise allocation of Sarpanch and Ward Panch posts will be cleared on September 24.
With the completion of the reservation process, political activities for the Panchayati Raj elections in Jaipur district are expected to intensify, especially before the next stages like nomination and voting.
