Deendayal Upadhyay was born on 25 September 1916. He was a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and an ideologue of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He started a monthly magazine called 'Rashtra Dharma' in the 1940s for Hindutva revival.
