Talking to the media at the Circuit House, Rathod described BJP's victory in the civic elections as a victory of public trust on the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
He fiercely targeted the opposition regarding the questions being raised on EVMs and election results. Rathore said that where the opposition wins, EVMs are not questioned, whereas after defeat, EVMs or SIRs are held responsible. Describing the Election Commission as an independent constitutional institution, he said that the mandate should be respected.
On the issue of SIR, Rathore said that only the citizens of the country should have the right to decide the power of the country. He claimed that family links are being arranged for names in the voter list in SIR. He accused Congress of making outsiders voters and said that transparency is necessary on this issue.
On the issue of EWS, Madan Rathod said that it was the BJP government that had started providing relief to the economically weaker section. He said that the government will make efforts to remove whatever shortcomings there are and will also consider providing relief to the needy people of the general category.
He described the results of the local body elections as a victory for the trust of BJP workers and the public. Regarding the upcoming Panchayat elections, Madan Rathod said that the organization of BJP is strong till the booth level and everyone from the booth workers to the national leadership is united. He said that it is the effort of BJP that the people of rural areas should also get better facilities like the citizens of urban areas. He also expressed confidence of public support in the Panchayat elections.
Rathore said that Prime Minister Modi has implemented many schemes to improve the standard of living of the common citizen along with increasing India's prestige in the world. The government is working on the basis of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's thinking of integral humanism and strengthening the last man. The public has put its seal of approval on these works.
Referring to the work of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma government, he enumerated the efforts of the state government like electricity, medicine, adding Rs 3,000 to the honor fund for farmers, increasing MSP, self-reliance in power generation, industrial development and Rising Rajasthan. He claimed that along with government jobs, the government has also worked on strengthening law and order and action against criminals.
He said that in the elections the party had issued a manifesto to strengthen the local bodies. Work will be done to improve basic facilities like drainage, roads, underpasses, overbridges, water disposal, waste management and sanitation in cities. BJP aims to accelerate development by changing the double engine government to triple engine government.
