Ankush was trailing 1-4 at the end of the first round, but with his good punches he won the second round 3-2 in a close contest.
Even in the third round, Indian boxers were better among the two boxers. They won the third round 5–0. Four out of five judges voted in Ankush's favor and he won 4–1. All four gave a verdict of 29-28, while one judge gave a verdict of 28-29 against him.
Narendra lost his semi-final match to Oralbay by a unanimous decision of 0-5. Oralbe dominated the bout with his powerful punches, while Narendra played well but could not knock the world champion down.
Oralbe won the first round 5-0 and his punches landed well. He maintained his dominance in the second round also. His vigorous attacks put Narendra in trouble. The Kazakh boxer adopted a defensive attitude in the third round and won 5-0 over the Indian boxer.
Meanwhile, Ankush has become the first Indian male boxer to reach an Asiad final since Amit Panghal (49kg) won gold at the 2018 Jakarta Games. This was India's second confirmed silver medal in boxing at the ongoing Games.
Earlier, Parveen Hooda defeated China's Li Shu 5-0 to reach the final of the women's 65kg event. Parveen will compete with Chen Nien-Chin of Chinese Taipei for the gold medal.
