Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and some others for forcibly entering the All India Radio office.
According to the police, a complaint was received in this regard. In this complaint, it has been alleged that Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and many MPs including them forcefully entered the All India Radio office. According to police, the protesters were asked to vacate the All India Radio Bhawan premises. However, he refused to go. The protesting leaders said that they will not go until their delegation of MPs is given time to meet the Election Commission officials.
Delhi Police has said that based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered in this case. The police are investigating the entire incident. However, information about the sections under which the FIR has been registered has not been revealed yet. Police said that more information about the case will be given after the investigation is completed. According to officials, other details related to the case are awaited.
Meanwhile, India Aghadi MPs had planned to march from Parliament House to the Election Commission's 'Nirvachan Sadan' office on Tuesday. However, according to the police, no official permission was taken for this march and Delhi Police also did not give permission.
The police stopped the protestors near the Election Commission office. After that, leaders and MPs of opposition parties started protesting there. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other leaders reached Akashvani Bhawan area. He continued his protest there also. Delhi Police said that the police intervened to maintain law and order and prevent the situation from worsening. Later, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other protesters were removed from the area and taken into custody.
According to the police, about 260 people were taken into custody during the protest on Tuesday. It also included 10 MPs. The leaders taken into custody were taken to New Police Lines in Kingsway Camp. He was later released. The opposition parties had organized this protest to oppose the Special In-Depth Review (SIR) of the voter list. The opposition is also demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Now Delhi Police has registered an FIR for allegedly entering All India Radio Bhawan and protesting there.
