Speaking to the media in Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said, “He was a very good friend of mine. He was a very noble man. He helped the poor all his life.”
He told that Nana Patekar had a special attachment to Kashmir and he used to come here again and again. Farooq Abdullah said, “He used to come here again and again and I used to meet him. We also met together at a wedding ceremony and I also danced with him.”
Farooq Abdullah said that Nana Patekar understood the difficult situation of the people. They got the sad news of his departure in the morning. He told that Nana Patekar had recently shot his last film in Goa.
Expressing his condolences, he said, “Heard the very sad news of his demise in the morning. I express my condolences on my behalf. I pray that he finds a place in heaven.”
Farooq Abdullah praised the personality of Nana Patekar and said that there was a lot of softness in him. He never looked at religion or religion. His focus was always on the pain and suffering of the person in front of him.
He said, “There was a softness in him. He never looked at religion. He saw what was the suffering of a person, what was his pain and tried to remove his suffering. Nana Patekar was a tremendous actor and he will always be remembered. His work for the poor and his humanity will be remembered by the people for a long time.”
