Indian Railways is going to make big changes in its trains for those who travel in trains at night. After the 16 sleeper Vande Bharat sleeper train, now a plan is being made to make a 24 coach train. Due to which people will get high-class facilities in canteen and toilet. According to the information given by the Railways, a company named Chennai Steel Integral Factory has been given the contract to make 24 coach Vande Bharat. The design of the new train is expected to be completed by June 2027.
What is special about Vande Bharat with 24 coaches?
Major changes have been made for passengers in the new Vande Bharat. This train will have more facilities than the previous train. The biggest change has been made to the pantry. Facilities from heating to cooking will be available in this train. Along with this, the number of toilets has also been increased in this 24 coach Vande Bharat. ICF engineers will give a modern touch to the interior of the train.
Focus on making more than 200 Vande Bharat sleeper trains
According to the information given by Indian Railways, about 200 Vande Bharat trains with 24 coaches will be made. Currently, the Chennai company has been given the contract to make 50 Vande Bharats. Kinet Railway Solution Private Limited Company has been awarded the contract to build 120 Vande Bharats. It is a joint venture between Russian rolling stock company TMH, Russian equipment supplier LES and Indian government company Rail Vikas Nigam Limited RVNL. Also, 80 Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be manufactured under the joint venture of Titagarh Rail System Limited and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.
More comfortable to sleep and wake up
The 24-coach Vande Bharat Sleeper train will have all the necessary facilities to ensure that passengers do not face any problem. There will be separate lighting, passenger announcement system, visual information screens and CCTV at night. Each coach will also have separate lights, mobile charging portal and a small coffee table.
Modern toilet and special facilities for disabled passengers
The new Vande Bharat will have modern bio-vacuum toilets like the ones on airplanes. There will also be a special toilet for disabled passengers and a separate corner for new born children. Besides, the option of hot water shower will also be given in AC first class coach.
Big plans for the safety of Vande Bharat
The new Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be fitted with Desi Kavach Collision Prevention System. Regenerative braking technology will also be used to save energy. The coach will have completely closed corridors to control the temperature inside the coach and to reduce the impact of outside dust and wind. A facility will be installed in this train for security. In case of emergency, passengers will also get talkback facility in every coach to contact the loco pilot. This train will come into service by June 2027.
