Bomb threat to Delta flight arriving in Tel Aviv

A Delta Airlines flight that reached Tel Aviv from New York, USA, received a bomb threat on Tuesday. The plane was evacuated and searched, but no explosives were found. A day before this, Israel had not given permission to the Ethiopian Airlines cargo plane to land because of the Indonesian pilot. The plane got permission after changing the pilot. After the accident on Flydubai flight, Israel tightened safety rules and banned pilots and crew from 11 countries.

These include Afghanistan, Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Niger, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Venezuela. These countries do not have diplomatic relations with Israel.

The list of crew members on board the Ethiopian Airlines flight was sent to Israel after the plane took off from Addis Ababa. That means Israel did not get complete information about its crew before the plane took off. The plane had plenty of fuel at takeoff. The pilot had to return to Addis Ababa, so fuel was spilled over the ocean to reduce the weight of the plane.

After this the pilot was changed. After the new pilot got permission to land in Israel, the way was cleared for the plane to go there again.
