Speaking at the 'Mera Yuva Bharat' program organized on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram' national anthem in Madhya Pradesh, Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the support of the public, while the opposition has failed to win the trust of the public.
He further said that Rahul Gandhi is not capable of winning the elections. Prime Minister Modi resides in the hearts of the people. The public has rejected the opposition many times before. They were losing even before the Special Intensive Review (SIR) and are losing even after this.
He alleged that the opposition, believing that it cannot win the elections, is now trying to create unrest by spreading misinformation.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Chouhan said such efforts will not succeed and people will reject those who are resorting to 'negative politics'.
These comments of the Union Minister have come amid criticism from the opposition regarding the process of amending the voter list by the Election Commission and allegations related to it.
The opposition has raised concerns over deletion of names from electoral rolls and electoral transparency, while the electoral roll revision process (SIR) remains a point of political controversy.
In the programme, Chauhan also talked about India's civilizational heritage and historical traditions. He said the country's written history goes back more than 5,000 years, and highlighted the importance of the Vedas in India's ancient civilization.
He further said that the written history of India is more than 5,000 years old. When civilization had not even emerged in the developed countries of the world, the Vedas were being composed in India.
