'You want to save votes from infiltrators'

“You will not be able to form the government for 30 years on the basis of your negative politics,” Union Home Minister Amit Shah said while targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. After the election defeat, instead of alleging vote rigging and taking to the streets to protest, Amit Shah gave strict advice to the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party to understand the problems of the people, work for them and win the trust of the people. He was speaking while inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of 33 projects of Delhi Jal Board worth Rs 8,941 crore.

Amit Shah said that people's votes cannot be rejected on the basis of political tricks and crowd pressure. If we have to win the elections, we have to go among the people and understand their problems. We should implement welfare schemes in the states where we have come to power; Otherwise, the political influence of the parties will be lost in other states also, he warned. Amit Shah said, “I want to tell you that Amit Shah was born here, lives here and will die here. I do not need to go abroad every six months.” Amit Shah targeted Rahul Gandhi.

Amit Shah claimed that ever since BJP started winning elections, Congress and AAP have been alleging rigging in voting. He also alleged that the opposition is raising the issue of rigging in voting only to keep the names of infiltrators in the voter list. Targeting the opposition parties and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said that the opposition wants to save votes from infiltrators under the guise of allegations of 'vote theft'. Instead of targeting the Election Commission over the Special In-Depth Revision (SIR) process, Congress should introspect. SIR process will start after 2024. Shah asked why Congress had to accept defeat in different states for many years before that. Questioning the party's electoral performance, he said that Congress has not had much success in West Bengal, Tripura and Gujarat for many decades.

He reminded the opposition that even when the opposition won in Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana, the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and the Election Commission were the same. Criticizing the opposition, he said, “When you lose, you criticize the Election Commission; if the court's decision is in your favour, you consider it right, otherwise you consider it wrong.”

Expressing confidence that the BJP will remain in power for the next 30 years, Shah said the negative politics of the Congress will make it difficult for the party to return to power. He had earlier claimed that if the NDA wins the 2029 Lok Sabha elections with a huge majority, the Congress will have to face defeat for the fourth consecutive time. Shah said that Rahul Gandhi and his associates will not win the trust of the people by holding events in front of the media and repeating the allegations, rather they should work among the people.
