On his appointment as Mumbai NCP president, Zeeshan Siddiqui said, “I am very happy and also curious because Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar has given me such a big responsibility. As per Ajit Dada's dream, remembering my father Baba Siddiqui, I accept the responsibility of Mumbai today.
By holding the post of President of Nationalist Congress Party, I will work for everyone in the future. It is our duty to hoist the flag of Nationalist Congress Party in Mumbai along with the youth and seniors. It is our duty to increase the family.”
He said that there are a lot of people who wanted to enter the party and were waiting for this moment. Now they will also work together with the party. He said that he is eager to work with every society and every class.
Expressing his gratitude to the party leadership, Zeeshan Siddiqui said, “For this responsibility that has been given to me, I would like to thank the party leadership, Sunetra Pawar, Parth Pawar, Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, everyone for considering me so capable. Now it is my turn. We have to strengthen the Nationalist Congress Party in Mumbai. How many seats we win in the upcoming elections and how our party grows, that responsibility. It is mine and I will perform it well.”
Remembering his father Baba Siddiqui, Zeeshan said, “My father would have been very happy to see me today that such a big responsibility has been given to me. Wherever he is, he would be smiling. Remembering him, remembering Ajit Dada, I will move ahead. Keeping in mind what he has taught me and the upbringing he has given me, I will walk on the same path.”
Zeeshan said that he misses his father every moment. Even today when he took the appointment letter, he missed his father and Ajit Dada a lot. He said that now we have to follow his footsteps and work for the people.
On the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff, Zeeshan Siddiqui said, “I would call all these people cowards because only cowards attack like this. They all should be punished severely because Mumbai is not a city in which something like this should happen.”
He said that Mumbai is a city which is watched by the whole world. In such a situation an example will have to be set. He said that especially the mastermind behind his father Baba Siddiqui, it is necessary to catch and punish him, only then the city of Mumbai will be able to feel truly safe.
While talking on Law & Order, Zeeshan said that he considers both the cases as separate. In the case of his father, his demand is a little different, but the law and order situation is there. He said that intelligence will have to do a better job than this and the more alert we are, the more secure people will feel.
He said that so far around 11 people have been arrested in his father's case, but the police have not yet been able to reach the root cause. In the case of Tiger Shroff also it is necessary to go to the root.
He said that whoever tries to create an atmosphere of fear will not succeed, because the morale of Mumbaikars is different. He said that it is important for Mumbai Police to go to the root, but no one can scare the people of Mumbai.
Regarding Ajit Pawar's death in the plane crash, Zeeshan Siddiqui said, “Whatever it is, we have always demanded that there should be a thorough investigation. Ajit Dada was our everything. He was like my guru and as a disciple, I would say that whatever happened to Ajit Dada, there should be a thorough investigation. This is what we have been demanding and will continue to do.”
He said that he is sure that the investigation will be better and faster than before and everyone will get justice. On the question of doubt, he said that what happened will be known only after investigation but the investigation should be done in an impartial manner.
