Karnataka government ministers have raised serious questions on the central government and the Chief Election Commissioner regarding the functioning of the Election Commission and irregularities in the voter list. Kalaburagi Minister Priyank Kharge and Raichur Minister Dr. Ajay Dharam Singh said about the India Block rally being held in Delhi that this rally is a fight to save democracy and the Constitution.
State Home Minister Priyank Kharge said that very important and legal questions have been placed before the Election Commission but the Commission is not answering them. He said that the Supreme Court has also taken cognizance of this matter.
Who gave permission to change the process of Form-6 without the oversight of Parliament? How are Form-7 being distributed in such large numbers? He said that names of 13.2 crore voters have been removed from the voter list, which is about 15 percent of the total eligible voters and the voters are not even aware of it.
He said that the question also arises as to why Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar needs judicial immunity. When they are being asked legally important questions, why is BJP giving answers? Has BJP become the official spokesperson of the Election Commission? Where is Gyanesh Kumar hiding?
Priyank Kharge said that if governments are being formed on the basis of artificial mandate and artificial majority, then it is against the Constitution and is nothing less than treason. He demanded that Gyanesh Kumar should resign and face the law.
At the same time, Minister Dr. Ajay Dharam Singh said that not only the Congress Party but leaders of the entire India Alliance and a large number of common citizens from across the country have gathered at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Lakhs of people from cities and villages are joining this protest as the country wants to know what is the real intention behind SIR.
He alleged that it has become clear that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is involved in this entire matter. After all, why are Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah saving them? Gyanesh Kumar is not associated with any political party, neither Congress, nor BJP nor any other party, yet he is being saved.
He said that two other commissioners of the Election Commission themselves have clarified that in the last 10 months, 14 such decisions have been taken on which no consensus was reached and they were not even informed about it. Despite such serious shortcomings, it is beyond comprehension for the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to save him.
