162 officers transferred together in Delhi GST department, CM Rekha Gupta took big action
New Delhi: Taking a tough stance on corruption, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has made large-scale administrative changes in the Trade and Taxes (GST) department. A total of 162 officers and employees have been transferred from one place to another. All these officers were posted at the same post for a long time, due to which there was a danger of irregularities increasing in the department.
Strict action on irregularities
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made a surprise visit to the GST department on 8 April 2026. During this period, many serious irregularities came to light in the department. In view of these irregularities, the Chief Minister gave instructions to take immediate action. On his orders, large scale transfers have been made in the department.
According to the government statement, “As part of this strict action, a total of 162 officers and employees, including three assistant commissioners, have been transferred. These officers were working at the same place for a long time.”
These officers were transferred
The list of transfers includes officers of various posts.
- 3 Assistant Commissioner
- 58 Section Officer Grade-1
- 22 Assistant Section Officer Grade-2
- 74 Senior Assistant Grade-3
- 5 Junior Assistant Grade-4
The Chief Minister says that being posted at one place for a long time increases the possibility of corruption. Therefore, this decision has been taken under the zero tolerance policy. This step will increase transparency in the department and improve its functioning.
surprise inspection in hospital
Another example of this strictness was seen on Thursday. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reached Aruna Asaf Ali Government Hospital located in Civil Lines. There he did a surprise inspection and reprimanded the officials after finding shortage of medicines and dirt.
The CM gave strict instructions to the hospital administration to ensure basic facilities like medicines, drinking water and sanitation during the summer season. He said that medicines should be provided to the patients on the same day of doctor’s examination. Taking stock of OPD, ward, medicine counter and sanitation system, he asked to make all necessary improvements immediately.
