18 thousand women Lakhpati Didi in Yavatmal; Strengthen women empowerment; Loan repayment 99 percent

Various schemes are being implemented through Self Help Self Help Groups through Mavim in 421 villages of 10 talukas and 76,964 women were organized from 6876 self help groups under ‘Navtejaswini’ project, about 120 crore loans are available from banks every year and the repayment rate is 99 percent. 42,461 women have become entrepreneurs from various businesses like agriculture service center, goat rearing, dalmill, turmeric processing, garments etc. 16 ‘Drone Sakhis’ are undergoing training and drone service is in operation for field spraying. Financial assistance is being provided for e-rickshaws, drones, agricultural implements etc. through various funds.

‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme is an ambitious scheme of the government, whose main objective is to make rural women financially independent. The government intends to make the annual income of women at least Rs 1 lakh through this scheme. To improve economic status of women associated with women self help groups by imparting skill training. Unsecured bank loans of up to Rs 20 lakh are made available to SHGs to connect rural women with entrepreneurship and technology to make them ‘millionaires’.

Also, interest subsidy is given to meet the difference between the banks’ lending rate and 7 percent on loans taken by women self help groups from banks, financial institutions. This subsidy is up to a maximum of Rs 3 lakh for self help groups. Along with this, women members of every Self Help Group having a Jan-Dhan account are eligible for an overdraft limit of up to Rs.5,000.

Self Help Group Certificate/ID Card, Passport Size Photo and Mobile Number, Income Proof, Resident Proof etc. Documents required.
