During a wedding in Kannur, Kerala, a bride-turned-doctor stopped her wedding rituals to help two catering staff who fell ill. Dr. Shireen Subair was getting married to Dr. Rizaz. Meanwhile, two women of the catering team suddenly fell ill. One woman's nose started bleeding while the other started feeling dizzy. When the people present there came to know that Shirin was a doctor, they called her for help. Shirin immediately saw both of them and gave them first aid. The video of this entire incident is now going viral on social media.
Shireen is a resident of Panur, Kannur. She is pursuing her first year MD in Emergency Medicine at Valluvanad Hospital, Ottapalam. He told that people knew that he was a doctor so someone called him. Shirin said that she did what was necessary at that time. Before taking both the women to the hospital, he gave them basic first aid.

This is how the bride helped both of them
Shirin asked the woman whose nose was bleeding to bend forward a little. Also asked to press the soft part of the nose for 10 to 15 minutes and advised to breathe through the mouth. The woman who was feeling dizzy was made to lie down and her legs were raised slightly. Shirin told that these are basic first aid methods. After this, if necessary, the patient should be taken to the hospital.
After the video went viral, people are praising Shirin. However, Shirin does not consider it a big deal. He said it was his duty. He says that even if he sees someone falling or becoming unconscious on the road, being a doctor, he immediately tries to help and if necessary, takes him to the hospital.
Shirin told that when she was helping the two women, she did not know that someone was making her video. Later, he came to know about it when the video went viral on social media and many people sent it to him. Shirin said that she was just doing her work at that time and there was no big deal in it.

Immediate help is necessary in emergency
Shirin appealed to the people to have knowledge of basic first aid. He said that in an emergency, timely help can be very important. Delay in providing initial CPR may reduce the patient's chances of survival.
Shireen's husband Dr. Rizaz is also studying medicine. He is pursuing postgraduation in orthopedics in Andhra Pradesh. Rizaz said that doctors who study emergency medicine are ready to help quickly in such a situation. Both of them say that every person must have some basic knowledge of first aid.
