At the rear, the pickup receives vertically stacked LED tail-lamps with C-shaped lighting elements, ‘TOYOTA’ lettering across the tailgate and a bumper with an integrated step for easier access to the cargo bed. It is available in six colours: Sulphur Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red and Super White.Moving inside, the Hilux features a new dashboard housing a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch instrument cluster, along with a new three-spoke steering wheel carrying Toyota’s lettermark. The feature list includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, connected car technology, cruise control, powered and ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker audio system, a rear armrest with cupholders, a PM 2.5 air filter, a 360-degree camera and Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes. The cabin uses a mix of leatherette surfaces and hard plastics, while physical controls have been retained for key functions. Compared with the global-spec model, the India-spec Hilux does not get ADAS, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster or dual-zone automatic climate control. Instead, it comes with a 7-inch instrument display and manual air conditioning. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with Brake Assist, front and rear parking sensors, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.Talking about the powertrain, the Hilux is powered by the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 204hp and 500Nm. It comes paired only with a six-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. Toyota has also introduced a rear-wheel-drive (4×2) variant alongside the four-wheel-drive (4×4) versions. The 4×4 variants continue with a low-range transfer case, an electronic differential lock, multiple terrain modes, downhill assist control, traction control and an auto limited-slip differential.
