On the 80th Independence Day, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav presented the roadmap for the development of Madhya Pradesh from Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal. He informed about the government's plans and upcoming targets in many areas including farmer welfare, irrigation, investment, employment, education, skill development, industry and culture.
Tezzbuzz Desk-The 80th Independence Day was celebrated in Madhya Pradesh with full enthusiasm and patriotism. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav hoisted the flag in the state level function organized at Lal Parade Ground, Bhopal. After this he inspected the parade and took the salute. 22 contingents including police band participated in the program.
Recalling the contribution of Madhya Pradesh in the freedom struggle, the Chief Minister paid tribute to heroes like Rani Durgavati, Rani Avanti Bai, Maharaja Chhatrasal, Tantya Mama Bhil and Chandrashekhar Azad. He also paid tribute to the police and Hawk Force personnel martyred during internal security.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that the year 2027 will be celebrated as 'Youth Year' in Madhya Pradesh. He said that the government will work on seven major areas for the all-round development of the youth. These include quality education, skill development, entrepreneurship and self-employment, employment in government and private sector, promotion of startups, sports-art-culture and research and development of leadership abilities.
The Chief Minister said that till now more than 85 thousand youth have been given appointments in government services in the state. The government aims to provide employment opportunities in the public sector to more than one lakh youth every year in the coming times.
Mission GYANII and emphasis on skill development
The government is also giving priority to skill development to prepare the youth for employment. A target has been set to train more than one lakh youth in ITI in the next one year and to train 10 thousand youth every year through Global Skill Park.
The government will also work towards creating a separate placement cell in Madhya Pradesh. This cell will play an important role in connecting employment opportunities between industries and youth.
The Chief Minister said that the government will also pay special attention to those youth who did not pass the 10th examination or left studies after 10th. Such youth will be made employable by giving them skill training, so that they can get work opportunities in Madhya Pradesh as well as in the country and abroad.
The Chief Minister said that the year 2026 is being celebrated as Farmer Welfare Year. Describing the farmers' fields as temples for the government, he said that strengthening the agriculture sector is the priority of the government. He informed that the decision to give four times compensation to farmers on acquisition of agricultural land for government schemes has been implemented. The government is also working to deliver irrigation water to the last reaches of the state.
Emphasis on making farming a new source of employment
Dr. Yadav said that employment does not only mean government job or working in industries. Modern and irrigated farming can also become a major source of employment and income for the youth.
He appealed to the youth to adopt horticulture crops. According to the Chief Minister, cultivation of orange, banana, grapes, custard apple, vegetables, spices, makhana, blueberry, strawberry, dragon fruit and flowers is being promoted in Madhya Pradesh.
He said that the government is also working on the goal of making the state the 'Milk Capital' of the country. At present, about 12 lakh liters of milk is being collected every day in the state.
Target to increase irrigation capacity
The Chief Minister said that the government is working on developing the entire value chain from farm to factory. A target has been set to increase the gross irrigation capacity of the state to 100 lakh hectares by the year 2028-29. He also described the Ken-Betwa river linking project as an important achievement for Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, work is going on on various projects to increase irrigation and greenery in the Vindhya region.
The Chief Minister said that 'Mriganayani' has become the first public undertaking in the country, which has created a digital platform to connect the weavers, artists and ODOP products of the state with the global market. He also informed about starting Handloom Center of Excellence in the state on the occasion of National Handloom Day.
Government's focus on investment and employment
Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the year 2025 was celebrated as the year of investment and employment. Now the government is taking forward youth centric schemes.
He said that in the last two and a half years, more than 3.34 lakh manufacturing units have been registered on the Udyam portal. Through these, it was claimed that direct and indirect employment opportunities would be created for about 33.80 lakh youth.
The Chief Minister said that the aim of the government is to make the youth not only employment seekers but also employment providers. In this direction, entrepreneurship, startup, skill training and self-employment will be promoted.
Overall, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav put forward the future vision of the government for Madhya Pradesh from the platform of Independence Day by keeping farmer welfare, youth empowerment, employment, skill development, irrigation and investment at the center.
