‘370 rupees biryani’ controversy: Pranit More appeared before NCW, remained silent on media questions
Tezzbuzz Desk – Standup comedian and ‘Bigg Boss’ fame Pranit More’s troubles seem to be increasing in the ‘370 rupees biryani’ controversy. On Sunday 22 June, he appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW). Along with him, web developer Himanshu Jangra also reached the NCW office, where both were interrogated regarding the controversial remarks.
Pranit More and Himanshu Jangra were wearing masks while reaching NCW office. The media tried to get reaction from both of them on this matter, but they did not give any statement and went straight inside the Commission’s office. News agency PTI has also shared the video of this incident on its official X account.
What is the Rs 370 biryani controversy?
This controversy started during a standup show of Pranit More. Himanshu Jangra, who was present in the show, told that he had gone on a date with a girl, where he bought chicken biryani worth Rs 370 for her. He then claimed that when the girl asked him to drop her home, he felt that she should expect a physical relationship in return for the money he spent.
There was a sharp reaction on social media on this comment of Himanshu. Allegations were made that this statement promoted objectionable and disrespectful thinking towards women. The controversy escalated further when people alleged that Pranit More laughed at Himanshu’s statement instead of opposing it and also shared the clip of the show on his social media account.
Pranit More apologized
After the matter got heated, Pranit More apologized through Instagram story. After this he released a video saying that his intention was not to hurt anyone’s sentiments and if anyone has been hurt because of him, he expresses regret for it.
After the controversy, Himanshu Jangra was fired from his company based in Gurugram. He was working as a web developer in a design company. Amidst the growing controversy, he also publicly apologized and deactivated his Instagram account.
