6 big decisions of CM Samrat: New good news for the people of Bihar
Patna. In the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister in Bihar, many major decisions related to the development and public welfare of the state have been taken. A total of 25 important proposals were approved in this meeting, which will have a direct impact on farmers, youth, urban development and social security. These decisions are being considered an important step for the development of the state.
Approval of payment of Rs 43 crore
The cabinet meeting approved the payment of dues of about Rs 43 crore to the sugarcane farmers associated with Sasamusa Sugar Works. This will provide direct financial relief to thousands of farmers and will also pave the way for restarting the closed sugar mills.
Rural employment will get a boost
The government has approved ‘Develop India-Employment and Livelihood Guarantee Mission (Rural)’, which will be implemented from July 1, 2026. The objective of this scheme is to increase employment opportunities in rural areas and to provide livelihood to the youth at the local level.
New initiatives in education and technology
Approval has been given for construction of research park and new hostel in IIT Patna. This will promote higher education and technical research. Along with this, the budget has been approved for e-Procurement 2.0 and BIHAR SNA-SPARSH system, which will make the government functioning and payment system more transparent and faster.
Big investment on irrigation and flood management
Many important schemes have been given green signal to strengthen agriculture and water resources. Rs 251.55 crore sanctioned for Dakkaranala Pump Canal Scheme. Rs 196.89 crore sanctioned for Sindhwarani Reservoir Scheme. A large amount was also sanctioned for flood control and river management works. These schemes will strengthen the irrigation system and are expected to reduce the damage caused by floods.
Expansion of infrastructure in cities
Many projects related to sewerage and water supply have been approved in Biharsharif, Hajipur, Begusarai and Saharsa. Rs 100 crore to Rs 375 crore will be spent on these projects. This will improve sanitation, drinking water supply and environmental conditions in urban areas.
Administrative reforms and investment promotion
The Cabinet has approved amendments in the Commercial Tax Department, E-Stamp Rules and Private Nursing Home Rules. This will make the administrative process easier and effective. Apart from this, it has also been decided to speed up industrial investment in the state by giving more powers to the Investment Promotion Board.
Big decisions for social security and farmers
The government has approved an amount of over Rs 3,662 crore for advance payment from May to July 2026 under the Social Security Pension Scheme. With this, lakhs of beneficiaries will be able to get pension on time. Also, it has been decided to re-implement the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme from 2026-27, so that farmers will get protection in case of crop loss.
