6-lane expressway will pass through UP-Bihar, good news for these districts
News Desk. An important infrastructure project connecting Uttar Pradesh and Bihar has received major approval from the Central Government. The two stuck packages of the 6-lane expressway (NH 319B) being built from Varanasi to Kolkata have now been merged, which is expected to give new momentum to the project.
Package stuck in limbo gets approval
This road project comprises a total of several packages, work on some parts of which is already underway. But two packages related to Rohtas district were stuck for a long time. Now the Central Government has integrated them and given financial approval, so that the construction work can proceed.
Route changed via Sasaram
Earlier there was a plan to build a tunnel in this part due to the forest area, but due to lack of permission from the Forest Department and increase in cost, the design was changed. Now the road will be taken from near Sasaram city. Due to this, the length of the route has increased by about 15 kilometers.
This highway will connect many states
This expressway will connect Bihar with Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. A part of it starts from Chandauli in UP and passes through districts like Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad and Gaya. It also goes to Bengal connecting some districts of Jharkhand.
Big investment on bridge and infrastructure
Under this project, a big bridge of about 3.5 kilometers long will also be built on the Son River. Apart from this, construction of 6 small bridges is also proposed. The estimated cost of the entire road project is said to be around Rs 2897 crore.
Land acquisition and technical preparation
About 310 hectares of land will be required for this expressway, which includes both government and private land. After changes in the design, preparations are now being made to speed up the construction work. This project can prove to be a game changer for many districts of UP and Bihar.
