An extremely heart-wrenching incident has come to light that has brought shame to the temple of education, where a mere 6-year-old innocent child died during treatment in the hospital after being brutally beaten by his teacher. On the simple issue of not completing the homework, the teacher brutalized the innocent student to such an extent that the child got seriously injured and became unconscious in the class itself. After the classroom CCTV footage of the incident surfaced, there has been widespread anger in the area and family members have demanded strictest action against the school administration and the accused teacher.
Vandalism happened while checking homework in the classroom
According to the information received, the innocent student studying in Class 1 had gone to school in the morning as usual. When the homework was being checked by the teacher in the classroom, the child’s copy was found not to be complete. On this the teacher lost his temper and started attacking the innocent child with slaps and sticks. According to eyewitnesses and other children in the class, the teacher threw the child on the ground and beat him brutally, causing serious injuries to his head and internal organs.
The entire brutality was captured in CCTV footage.
The entire matter came to light after the recording of the CCTV camera installed in the class surfaced. It can be clearly seen in the footage how the teacher is continuously beating a 6 year old child without any mercy and the child is crying and apologizing. Due to excessive beating, the child fell on the floor and became unconscious within a short time. After this, the panicked school staff hurriedly took the child to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared him dead due to severe internal bleeding and deep head injury.
Police caught the accused teacher, case of culpable homicide registered
As soon as information about the incident was received, local police and senior administrative officials reached the spot. On the basis of CCTV footage and complaint of family members, the police has immediately taken the accused teacher into custody. The police have registered a case of murder/culpable homicide against the accused under relevant and non-bailable sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. Police officials say that the negligence of the school management is also being investigated and no culprit will be spared.
Child Protection Commission took cognizance, demanded strict action
After this inhuman incident came to light, the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken a tough stand and has summoned a detailed investigation report from the district administration and police department within 24 hours. Despite a complete ban on corporal punishment in schools under the Supreme Court and the Right to Education (RTE) Act, such incidents highlight the cruel mentality of teachers and lack of administrative monitoring. There is mourning at the house of the victim’s family and the local people demonstrated demanding death sentence to the accused.
