New Delhi: What happened on Wednesday on the flydubai flight going to Tel Aviv was no less than a film scene. The co-pilot attacked Indian Captain Smit Machar with a knife in the cockpit, the plane started falling thousands of feet, but the small stubbornness of a 6-year-old girl saved the entire flight.
Actually, 6 year old Neena Manes had to go to the toilet. He asked his mother Tali to take him to the washroom. Mother and daughter were near the cockpit when screaming sounds started coming from inside. The co-pilot was attacking the captain with knives.
“There was blood everywhere in the cockpit” – Mother narrated and saw the eyes.
Tali told Israel’s Channel 12, “There was blood everywhere in the cockpit, very intense attacks were taking place. I shouted that the pilot was being stabbed, at first no one understood.” After this scream, the cabin crew immediately ran. Neena’s father Zvika Manes told that when the plane started falling rapidly, he ran towards the cockpit after hearing the screams of his daughters. The daughters were saying that we do not want to die.
Plane fell thousands of feet
Passengers said that the plane was going out of control and people were screaming in fear. Then some passengers showed courage and caught hold of the co-pilot and controlled him. Blood-soaked Captain Smit Machar pressed the button to open the cockpit door as soon as he fell on the ground, so that help could come inside. A passenger wrote on social media amid the conflict that the attacker had been controlled and the plane was about to land.
4 people will get bravery award
For this bravery, Israeli President Isaac Herzog has announced the nomination of four people for the Civil Bravery Award, including Yaniv Hayun, Zvika Manes, Assaf Rajouan, a plumber who stopped the attacker by strangulating his throat and a dentist who gave first-aid to the pilot.
