65 eminent personalities including Rohit Sharma and Mammootty will receive Padma awards.
New Delhi, 22 June 2026: President Draupadi Murmu will confer Padma awards on 65 eminent persons including tennis legend Vijay Amritraj, actor Mammootty, playback singer Alka Yagnik and cricketer Rohit Sharma at the Republic Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
In this function, former Supreme Court judge K.T. Thomas and famous Malayalam journalist P. Narayanan will be honored with Padma Vibhushan. Seven eminent personalities including Vijay Amritraj, actor Mammootty and playback singer Alka Yagnik will receive Padma Bhushan.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren will be posthumously awarded Padma Bhushan; His family members will receive this honour. Fifty-six eminent personalities including former Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma and hockey player Savita Punia will receive the Padma Shri award.
This will be the second civic oath ceremony. Earlier, the President had presented 65 Padma awards – including two Padma Vibhushan, six Padma Bhushan and 57 Padma Shri awards – at the first civilian oath ceremony held on May 25.
