‘8 grams of gold and silk saree free in wedding’ Vijay’s party TVK released manifesto for Tamil Nadu elections

Chennai: Actor Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vetti Kazhagam (TVK) has released its manifesto for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026. The party has given maximum attention to women. In the manifesto, a big promise has been made to give 8 grams of gold and good quality silk saree for the marriage of women from poor families.

Key promises for women

• TVK’s manifesto states that every woman below 60 years of age will get financial assistance of Rs 2,500 every month.
• Every family will be given 6 gas cylinders absolutely free for cooking throughout the year.
• Women from poor background will be given 8 grams of gold and quality silk saree in their marriage.

These promises have been made to improve the economic condition of women and to make important expenses like their marriage easier.

Attractive promises for youth also

The youth have also been given a lot of relief in the manifesto. Youth completing graduation will get an allowance of Rs 4,000 every month and those doing diploma will get an allowance of Rs 2,000. There will be reservation of 75 percent jobs for Tamil youth in all private companies.

Also, youth will get interest free startup loan. Arrangements will be made for internship and skill training in the government sector. All government examinations will be conducted on time.

Vijay himself will contest elections from two seats

Party chief Vijay himself is contesting from Perambur and Trichy East. TVK is contesting the assembly elections for the first time and is contesting alone on all 234 seats. It has been decided not to join any big alliance. Women have also been taken care of in ticket distribution. The party has given 24 tickets to women.

When will Tamil Nadu elections be held?

Voting will be held in Tamil Nadu in a single phase on 23 April 2026. The results will be declared on 4 May 2026. Vijay’s party has kept the manifesto focused on women and youth. Announcements like promise of gold and saree for marriage, monthly help and free cylinder are much talked about among the women of Tamil Nadu. The party is hoping that these promises will attract women and young voters.
