‘9-1-1’ season 10 trailer sparks backlash

After releasing the trailer for its 10 season, the ABC procedural action thriller drama 9-1-1 has sparked some backlash with fans online.

The trailer for the upcoming season, which comes out on October 15 on showed Los Angeles faced with a natural disaster: a volcanic eruption.

The trailer also follows first responders Buck (Oliver Stark), Eddie (Ryan Guzman), Hen (Aisha Hinds), Chimney (Kenneth Choi) and Harry (Elijah M. Cooper) as they head into the field to assist trapped and injured civilians, only to face another challenge when the ground becomes unsafe to step on.

During all this Angela Bassett’s Athena has come face to face with another high stakes rescue mission and goes underground to help someone and ends up trapped herself.

Amid all the chaos, Eddie gets a sweet rescue moment when he carries a dog to safety.

However, fans were not happy with the screentime Eddie got in the trailer.

Fans took social media to express their discontent with the show, with one saing, “No lines in the trailer, the smallest one on the poster. Oh how I love being an Eddie stan.”

“My whole problem with 9-1-1 is the fact that they know people love & want more Eddie, yet they don’t give him any dialogue in the trailer,” another complained. “He is the smallest in the poster, you show him 5 seconds with a dog and it’s the most talked subject, yet you refuse to give him actual lines?”

“I love Hen, Athena, Howie and all but I want more of Eddie and Buck,” a third wrote. “I’m lowkey bored of seeing the same people get more screentime and their same redundant stories.”
