The doors of Delhi Assembly opened for the public on the occasion of Republic Day.

New Delhi. On the occasion of Republic Day, Delhi Assembly opened the doors of its historical complex to the general public. In a special function organized on this occasion, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta said that Republic Day is a celebration of the power of the people, the strength of our Constitution and the unwavering resolve of the democratic soul of India.

During the two-day celebrations, a large number of citizens, families, students and tourists from various walks of life visited the Assembly complex and participated in the Republic Day celebrations. This 115 year old building was decorated with the lights of the tricolor, which emerged as a symbol of patriotism and national unity.

During the program, Delhi Police Band presented patriotic tunes.

In his address, President Vijendra Gupta paid tribute to the makers of the Constitution and freedom fighters and said that such public events are a powerful medium to connect citizens, especially the youth, with India’s constitutional values ​​and democratic traditions. Underlining the historical importance of the Assembly, he said that this building has been witness to many important moments of the freedom struggle and democratic development.

Earlier on the morning of Republic Day, the Speaker hoisted the national flag at his official residence and expressed respect for the nation and the Constitution.
