India defeated England by 7 runs in a breath-taking match, entered the final of T20 World Cup 2026.

IND vs ENG T20 World Cup 2026 Semi-Final Highlight: The Indian team has made a brilliant entry in the final of T20 World Cup 2026 under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav. India faced England in the second semi-final match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Batting first after losing the toss, Team India scored a huge score of 253 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Sanju Samson’s excellent inning of 89 runs had an important contribution in this big score.

The English team, which came to chase the score given by India, performed excellently. Chasing the target, the England team could reach only 246 runs in 20 overs and had to face defeat by 7 runs. Now in the title match, India will face New Zealand on March 8 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India got a big score due to Sanju Samson’s brilliant innings.

In this important semi-final against England, a brilliant performance was seen by the Indian batsmen, in which Sanju Samson played the biggest role. Continuing his excellent form, he played a strong inning of 89 runs and made an important contribution in taking the team to a big score. For this innings of Samson, he was named ‘Player of the Match’. Award was also given. Apart from Samson, Shivam Dubey also played a useful inning of 43 runs. Ishan Kishan scored 39 runs, while Hardik Pandya added 27 runs. Thanks to these innings, the Indian team was successful in scoring 253 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.

England suffered three major setbacks in the powerplay.

The England team, which came to chase the target of 254 runs, had a very bad start. Phil Salt became the victim of Hardik Pandya after scoring 5 runs on the first ball of the second over. After this, a big innings was expected from captain Harry Brook, but he too was out on the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah after scoring only 7 runs. By the fifth over, England had lost two important wickets at the score of 38 runs. Jos Buttler tried to handle the innings with Jacob Bethel, but in the sixth over, he was bowled by Varun Chakravarthy after scoring 25 runs in 17 balls. By the end of the powerplay, England’s score was 68 runs for 3 wickets.

Bethel and Jax’s partnership increases excitement

After the powerplay, Jacob Bethel adopted an aggressive style and started playing big shots. During this, England lost the wicket of Tom Banton on the score of 95 runs, who was out after scoring 17 runs in 5 balls. After this, Will Jacques supported Bethel well. Both of them made the match exciting by making a partnership of 77 runs in 39 balls for the fifth wicket. However, Jacques’ wicket fell with the help of a brilliant catch by Akshar Patel. Jacques was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh after scoring 35 runs in 20 balls and England lost the fifth wicket at 172 runs.

India’s victory confirmed due to Bumrah’s strong bowling

After the dismissal of Will Jacques, Jacob Bethel along with Sam Curran maintained the run pace, but Jasprit Bumrah kept the pressure on the England batsmen with his tight bowling. Sam Curran was out after scoring 18 runs. While Bethel batted brilliantly and scored 105 runs in 48 balls, he was run out on the very first ball with 30 runs needed in the last over. After this, England could score only 246 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. India won this match by 7 runs. For the Indian team, Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakraborty, Arshdeep Singh and Akshar Patel got 1 wicket each.
