IND vs ENG: After the defeat, captain Harry Brook told what was the mistake, at what point did the match go out of hand?
IND vs ENG: A very explosive inning was seen at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In response to Team India’s 253 runs, England scored 246 runs in 20 overs, but remained 7 runs away from victory. With this defeat the English team’s journey in the tournament ended. After the defeat, English team captain Harry Brook has given some big statements. After the match was over, he told what big mistake he had made. The English team lost the semi-final match which it had won.
Captain Harry Brook told what went wrong
After winning the toss in the match, the English captain decided to bowl first and then left Sanju caught at 15 runs. Harry Brook said about this in the post match presentation ceremony after the defeat, ‘We thought that due to the pitch being fresh, there could be some grip in the beginning and we expected a little more spin in the first innings. But that did not happen. Obviously, he played very well. Of course, I will raise my hand and say that I made a big mistake by dropping Samson. As the old saying goes, matches are won by taking catches and unfortunately things did not go our way in the field tonight. In the end, we had to pay the price for it.
Speaking on the mistakes made in bowling, captain Harry Brook said, ‘There were just a few mistakes in bowling here and there. We probably didn’t play as well as we could have. But Indian batsmen are some of the best batsmen in the world and if you play wrong against them, the ball goes out of the park. But as I say, we tried hard and unfortunately the result was wrong.
Harry Brook said, “I’ll hold my hands up and admit I made a big mistake dropping Sanju Samson. We weren’t good enough in the field. We misexecuted, and can’t afford to do that against world class Indian batters”. pic.twitter.com/iOI7Q8gO7s

Praising Jacob Bethel, who was seen fighting alone in the match for England, captain Harry Brook said, ‘He (about Jacob Bethel) was absolutely incredible. I think he will earn a lot of money in his career and he will have a great career with England. He showed the world tonight how good he is. Unfortunately we were on the wrong side, but that innings is a huge positive from this competition.
