AC local train will run for the first time on this route in Mumbai

Mumbai Local Train: Mumbai Local is slowly changing. Railways has introduced AC facility in the local to make the journey more comfortable for the passengers. The railway administration has taken this step with the aim of making the journey of the passengers safe and pleasant and also to reduce the number of accidents.

At present AC local services are running on many routes in Mumbai. Now there is a possibility of adding another way. According to the information received, AC local may also run on CSMT to Goregaon route soon. Central Railway officials are working on necessary preparations and arrangements for this.

More than 100 local trains (Mumbai Local Train) run daily on this route from CSMT to Goregaon. Considering the increasing number of passengers on the Harbor route, a proposal has been made to replace some of the non-AC locales with AC locales. However, this proposal has not been approved yet, said an official of Central Railway. If Central Railway and Western Railway jointly approve the proposal, then AC Locals can start operation on this route from April 1. The journey from CSMT to Goregaon is approximately 34 to 36 kilometers. 3 to 5 lakh passengers travel on this route every day. At present local trains are available on this route at an interval of about 45 minutes. However, distance between services can be a problem when starting AC locally. Because if AC local runs in some rounds, the waiting for normal local may sometimes increase up to one and a half hours. Mumbai Local Train

Meanwhile, Central Railway has resumed 14 AC local services on the CSMT-Panvel Harbor route. These trains are part of a total of 94 AC local services running on Central Railway’s main and harbor lines. In view of recent increase in congestion in AC Locals, Central Railway Administration has appointed 50 licensed vendors in AC and Non-AC Locals on Harbor route. However, due to this, some passengers are expressing their displeasure regarding the inconvenience.
