Moradabad. Another case of GST fraud has come to light in Majhola police station area of Moradabad metropolis. Handicrafts export firm located at Azad Nagar Sambhal Road evaded GST by claiming ITC by showing turnover worth crores without actual buying and selling.
A liability of Rs 15.70 crore has been fixed against him including GST, penalty and interest, which has not been paid. In this matter, the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax Division-4 has registered a case against the firm owner in Majhola police station.
Deputy Commissioner of State Tax Division-4 has registered a case of GST evasion against Mujeeb Pasha, resident of Dhimri, in Majhola police station. In the report filed, the Deputy Commissioner said that Mujeeb Pasha is the owner of MS SL Impax firm located at Sambhal Road, Azad Nagar, Majhola.
Mujeeb Pasha had got GST registration for the business of Indian Handicrafts on 1 July 2017. The firm claimed input tax credit of Rs 2 crore 96 lakh 35 thousand 711 from the suppliers in the year 2018-19.
Apart from this, while showing outward supply (export) of Rs 12 crore 13 lakh 23 thousand 500, tax liability of Rs 2 crore 18 lakh 47 thousand 20 was accepted. After which a notice was issued to the firm’s owner Mujeeb Pasha on 18 December 2023 under Section 73 of the Uttar Pradesh Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, but no response was received.
Passing the order, Deputy Commissioner State Tax Division-1 fixed a total liability of Rs 15 crore 70 lakh 5 thousand 728, including GST, interest and penalty, on the firm owner Mujeeb Pasha.
Out of which not a single rupee was deposited. In the report filed by Deputy Commissioner Section-4, it was claimed that Mujeeb Pasha committed fraud and forgery by showing business only on paper without actual buying and selling and claimed ITC. All this was done for the purpose of GST evasion.
Superintendent of Police Kumar Ranvijay Singh said on Monday that today on the complaint of the State Tax Deputy Commissioner, a case of fraud and GST evasion has been registered against the accused firm owner Mujeeb Pasha at Majhola police station. Whatever facts emerge in the investigation, action will be taken accordingly.
