Five-day exhibition on the glorious history of Indian Muslims inaugurated
New Delhi . An exhibition titled “The Woven Land: A Visual Narrative of Muslim History in India” was inaugurated on Tuesday at the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. In this exhibition, the historical contribution of Muslims in the building of India has been shown in detail.
Organized by ‘Indian History Forum’, this exhibition was formally inaugurated at 11:00 am in the presence of many prominent personalities. These included Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President Syed Saadtullah Hussaini, Secretary of the Anjuman Committee of Ajmer Sharif Dargah Maulana Syed Sarwar Chishti, Maulana Asghar Ali Imam Mehdi, Senior Supreme Court Advocate Shamshad Alam and other intellectuals and community leaders.
This exhibition tells the entire story of the arrival of Islam in India and its contribution and influence in different areas through photographs and visuals. Through a series of well-curated exhibits and models, it highlights the role of Muslims in education, trade, social equality, women empowerment and translation of classical texts. Along with this, the development of architecture, culture, language as well as progress in science and astronomy have also been displayed.
A highlight of the exhibition is its ‘360-degree visual experience’, designed to engage visitors on a dynamic journey through history. This installation combines the art of storytelling with visuals to create a deeper understanding of the shared heritage and cultural syncretism that has shaped Indian society for centuries.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm daily from April 14 to April 19. Since its inauguration, a large number of people are coming to it and people from different sections of the society are becoming a part of this program.
