Born on September 28, 1929 in Indore in a musical family, Lata Mangeshkar’s father Dinanath Mangeshkar himself was a good singer and theater artist.

But after the death of his father at an early age, he had to take responsibility of the family. This was the time when she started singing in films and gradually created her own identity.
