Did the American blockade fail? Iran made a big claim, blacklisted ship openly crossed the border
Amidst the increasing tension between America and Iran, a news has come out which has sparked a new debate regarding maritime security and global politics. Iran has claimed that a large oil tanker blacklisted by the US crossed the Strait of Hormuz without any hindrance and reached its coast. The special thing is that the ship did not switch off its tracking system during the entire journey, due to which this incident has come into discussion even more.
The Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai gave information about this on the social media platform X. According to the post, it is a very large crude oil tanker (VLCC), which has the capacity to carry about 2 million barrels of oil. It was told that despite the American blockade and warnings, this ship crossed the Strait of Hormuz without any hindrance and reached the coast of Iran. Iran has presented this as its strategic success. He says that the tracking system of the ship remained continuously operational, which makes it clear that he did not maintain any kind of secrecy, but completed this journey openly.

Challenged American sanctions
According to Iran, the voyage of this tanker is a direct challenge to US sanctions. America had recently announced that it will keep a strict vigil on all sea routes connected to Iran and stop any suspicious ship. Despite this, the ship reaching its destination without stopping raises many questions. This incident has come to light at a time when military and economic tension is continuously increasing in the region. Iran says that it will continue its oil exports at any cost and will not succumb to external pressures.
America claims: Blockade fully implemented
At the same time, the US Central Command says that the blockade of Iranian ports has been completely implemented. He claims that within 36 hours of the start of the blockade, most of Iran’s trade via sea has been stopped. America has also made it clear that it will not allow any ship to move from international waters towards Iran or stop at its ports. This step is considered to be part of the strategy to increase economic pressure on Iran.
