‘Their right’, Russia sides with Iran on uranium enrichment, pressure mounts on Trump

It is Iran’s right to enrich uranium in the right way. There is nothing wrong with that. This time Russia stood by Iran with uranium enrichment. According to experts, this move by Russia increased the pressure on US President Donald Trump.

Speaking to reporters in Beijing on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, “After the meeting with the US, whether Iran temporarily suspends its uranium enrichment or insists on maintaining its rights – either way, Russia will stand by Tehran. It will accept their decision.” He clarified that all countries have the right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes. Based on this policy, Moscow will support whatever path Iran chooses.” The Russian foreign minister also said, “Russia and China support any talks on establishing peace in the Middle East.”

Note that America has repeatedly objected to Tehran’s nuclear program. The two countries have also held a meeting to rein in this tension. But there was no compromise. The main reason behind the failure of the recently held peace talks in Islamabad was the US’s disapproval of Iran’s nuclear program. In this regard, US Vice President JD Vance said in a press conference, “The United States has already destroyed Iran’s nuclear program and enrichment facilities.” But they did not give the assurance that Iran will not develop nuclear weapons in the future.” He claimed that Iran was clearly told what America wanted and what it did not want. But still no agreement could be reached.
