Crime Branch’s encounter with Bangladeshi dacoits in Delhi, 6 people arrested; Pistol, cartridges and knife recovered

An encounter took place between police and miscreants last night in Sarita Vihar area of ​​South-East Delhi. Six rounds of bullets were fired from both sides. After this encounter, 6 Bangladeshi citizens have been arrested. All the accused used to commit robberies. Till the time of writing the news, the accused were being interrogated.

However, no one was injured in this encounter. Delhi Police recovered two country-made pistols and a 12 bore country-made gun from them, from which three bullets were fired. Police are currently interrogating the accused to find out how long they were living in Delhi and whether they had any connection with any criminal gang.

How did the encounter happen?

Police source said that the Anti Extortion Kidnapping Cell team of Crime Branch had received information that some Bangladeshi citizens were living illegally in Sarita Vihar area. Based on the information, the crime branch team had come to arrest him. When the team cordoned off the spot and tried to catch the miscreants, instead of surrendering they started firing on the police party. In self-defense and to control the criminals, the police team also fired three rounds in retaliation. It is fortunate that no member of the police team or the accused was injured in this firing. The police showed promptness and caught all the six Bangladeshi criminals.

Major potential incident averted

During the search, three country-made pistols, one country-made 12 bore gun, five cartridges and a button knife were recovered from the miscreants. All the arrested accused are said to be originally from Bangladesh. The police is now investigating how long these people were living in Delhi and to which incidents they are connected. Besides, their illegal border crossing and local contacts are also being investigated.
