Women’s Reservation Bill: The mathematics of Madhya Pradesh Assembly will change, 174 MLAs will be needed to form the government.
A big change is being seen in the country towards empowering women politically. After the implementation of Nari Shakti Vandan Act, a new picture is going to emerge in the politics of Madhya Pradesh. This change will not be limited to just the number of seats, but will also completely change the structure and functioning of power.
Strong presence of women in the assembly
There are 230 seats in the current assembly of Madhya Pradesh, out of which only 27 are women MLAs. But after the new law this picture can change completely. It is likely that the assembly seats will increase to around 345, out of which around 114 seats will be reserved for women. This means that the number of women MLAs can increase by almost four times. This change will give women not only representation but also real power to take decisions.
The mathematics of government formation will change
With the increase in seats, the equation of government formation will also change.
– Currently 116 seats are required for majority.
– In the new scenario this figure may increase to around 174.
– Not only this, the size of the cabinet will also increase.
At present there can be a maximum of 34 ministers.
– In future this number may increase to more than 50
– This will see a wide expansion in the governance system.
Influence will increase in Lok Sabha also
This change will not be limited to the Assembly only. Its effect will be visible in the Parliament of New Delhi also.
Lok Sabha seats from Madhya Pradesh may increase from 29 to around 43. Of these, about 14 seats will be reserved for women. This will significantly increase the participation of women of the state in national politics.
New challenge before political parties
With this change a new challenge has arisen before the political parties. Now they will have to give tickets to a large number of women candidates. Mohan Yadav says that this step is a historic initiative towards giving women their rights. On the other hand, opposition parties have also started making their strategy regarding this.
full participation of half the population
Now the time is coming when women will not be limited to just election rallies, but will also play a leading role in making policies and taking decisions. This change will make politics more inclusive and balanced. The politics of Madhya Pradesh is going to enter a new phase, where women’s participation will not be just symbolic but decisive.
Through ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’, the way has now been opened for half of the population to get full share, which can change both the direction and condition of politics in the future.
