Punjab government snatched Z plus category security from Raghav Chadha, Center provided Z category security to Rajya Sabha MP.
New Delhi, 15 April. The ongoing discord between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has now come to the surface. In this sequence, the Z+ category security provided to Raghav by the ruling AAP government in Punjab was withdrawn. At present, shortly after this news came to light, he was provided security by the Central Government.
Based on the ongoing threat perception, the Union Home Ministry has provided Z category security to Raghav Chadha. This security will be available in both Delhi and Punjab. Paramilitary forces will be deployed for their security. Sources say that till the formalities are completed, Delhi Police has been instructed to provide immediate security.
It is noteworthy that after being elected Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, he was provided the highest level of Z+ security by the state government. But after the recent differences arising in the party regarding Raghav, the Punjab government had removed his security cover last week itself.
The tension between Raghav Chadha and the AAP leadership reached its peak when the party removed him from the post of deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha. Reacting sharply to this action, Chadha had said that he had been ‘silenced, not defeated.’
‘raised voice, paid the price’
Recently, Raghav Chadha had also shared a video titled ‘Awaaz Uthaai, Keema Chukai’ on Instagram. The video is a compilation of several ‘clips’ showing him raising various issues in Parliament. Chadha said in the post, ‘With all due respect, I would say to those who question my parliamentary performance that only my work will speak for itself.’
On April 2, he was removed from the post of deputy leader of the party in Rajya Sabha.
Aam Aadmi Party had removed Raghav Chadha from the post of deputy leader of the party in Rajya Sabha on April 2. The party accused him of refraining from speaking vocally against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Center in Parliament. Instead, he remained busy in his promotion. Adopting an aggressive stance, Chadha termed the party’s allegations as ‘lies’ and said that he had gone to Parliament to raise people’s issues and not to create ruckus.
After being removed from the post of AAP’s deputy leader in Rajya Sabha, Chadha has shared many videos and posts on social media. This clearly indicates that he will not silently accept the decision to remove him from the post of deputy leader of the party in Rajya Sabha.
