Bihar will run only on ‘Modi-Nitish model’… Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said after taking oath

Patna: Bihar’s newly appointed Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said on Wednesday that the state’s governance will continue on the ‘Modi-Nitish model’. Governor Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain (retd) administered the oath of office to Chaudhary as Chief Minister. A day before this, Nitish Kumar, who had held this post for a long time, had resigned. Chaudhary said, “I will immediately start working for the prosperity of the state. It should remain clear that Bihar will continue to be governed on the ‘Modi-Nitish model’.”

After taking oath as the first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Minister of Bihar on Wednesday, Samrat Chaudhary received a flood of congratulations. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders expressed confidence that the state will progress rapidly and contribute to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘developed India’. Congratulating Choudhary on ‘X’, Nitish Kumar, who has become a Rajya Sabha MP, said that under his leadership Bihar will develop rapidly and will be included in the category of the most developed states of the country. BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi also wished Chaudhary.

He said, “Samrat Chaudhary will work for the development of Bihar, which will help in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of ‘Developed India 2047’. Nitish Kumar established the rule of law and brought development in Bihar, which the new Chief Minister will take forward.”

Samrat Chaudhary’s father Shakuni Chaudhary, a seven-time MLA, described his son becoming chief minister as “God’s grace”. He said, “It’s all God’s grace. I struggled a long time and formed many political parties, but could not succeed. Today, with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Nitish Kumar, Samrat Chaudhary has become the Chief Minister. Hard work pays off.”

Janata Dal United (JDU) national working president Sanjay Kumar Jha expressed hope that under Chaudhary’s leadership, Bihar will enter a “new phase” of development and the pace of development will accelerate. He said that the youth will get new opportunities, farmers will be empowered and there will be equal development of every section of the society. Union Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) National President Chirag Paswan also congratulated Chaudhary and said that all the allies together will realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. He said, “Nitish Kumar worked to beautify Bihar after ‘Jungle Raj’ and now we will build the edifice of development on that basis.”

HAM (Hindustani Awam Morcha) chief and Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said a “new era has begun” in Bihar politics. He said, “Nitish Kumar has governed Bihar well in the last two decades. If any work is left incomplete, Samrat Chaudhary will complete it.”
He said that he had tears of happiness in one eye and tears of sadness in the other. Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that “Nitish Kumar is still in the driving seat” and it is the responsibility of Samrat Chaudhary to carry forward his development vision.

He said, “This was neither a JDU government nor a BJP government, rather it was and will remain an NDA government. Samrat Choudhary will maintain social harmony.” He said that Lalu Prasad’s rule will be remembered in history as ‘Jungle Raj’ and Nitish Kumar’s rule as ‘Golden Era’. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that with the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar is moving ahead on the development path established by Nitish Kumar.
