IPL 2026 RCB vs LSG: Bengaluru defeated Lucknow by 5 wickets, won the match in 29 balls first
The 23rd match of IPL 2026 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 15, which was a low-scoring match. LSG was all out for 146 runs. Bengaluru easily chased this small target and RCB won the match by 5 wickets.
By winning this match, Bengaluru has reached number 1 in the points table. RCB has won 4 out of 5 matches and lost only 1, their net run rate is +1.503. On the other hand, the condition of Lucknow is not special. LSG has won only 2 out of 5 matches and lost 3, the team is currently at number 7 and their net run rate is -0.804.

LSG innings
After losing the toss, LSG had to bat first. This decision was completely in favor of Bengaluru. Lucknow had a very slow start in the powerplay, the team scored only 35 runs after losing 1 wicket. After this, LSG regained some control in the middle overs and added 77 runs after losing 3 wickets between 7 and 15 overs, but the real blow came in the death overs. Where Bengaluru bowlers completely dominated. Between 16 and 20 overs, Lucknow lost 6 wickets and could score only 34 runs. Ultimately LSG team was all out after scoring 146 runs in 20 overs.
Mitchell Marsh scored the highest score of 40 runs for LSG. Apart from him, Mukul Chaudhary scored 39 runs and Ayush Badoni played a good inning of 38 runs. On behalf of Bengaluru, Rasikh Salam bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 3 wickets, while Krunal Pandya took 2 wickets.

RCB innings
Bengaluru had a very good start, due to which the team won the match easily. In the powerplay, RCB scored 60 runs losing 1 wicket. After this, Lucknow’s bowlers created some pressure in the middle overs but could not stop Bengaluru’s run rate. Between 7 and 15 overs, RCB lost 4 wickets but still added 85 runs. After this, as soon as the death overs started, he ended the match by hitting a four on the very first ball. RCB scored 149 runs by losing 5 wickets in 15.1 overs and registered an easy victory by 5 wickets with 29 balls remaining.

Virat Kohli scored the most runs for RCB but was just 1 run away from fifty and was out on 49. Captain Rajat Patidar scored 27 runs, while Jitesh Sharma played an inning of 23 runs. On the other hand, from Lucknow, Prince Yadav took 3 wickets, while Avesh Khan got 2 wickets.
