Mayawati welcomed women’s reservation, said- separate reservation should be given to Dalit and OBC women.

BSP supremo Mayawati, while addressing the press conference on Wednesday, said that we welcome the decision to give 33 percent reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, but women from Dalit and OBC communities should be given separate reservation. BSP Supremo said that our party has already been demanding 50 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, but now when it is being talked about giving 33 percent reservation, we support it so that there is some improvement.

Taking aim at Congress, he said that when Congress was in power, they had not talked about giving separate reservation to women and now by doing so they want to stop this reform. BSP supports this decision.

Efforts to woo Dalits will not succeed

Mayawati said that yesterday the birth anniversary of Constitution maker Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was celebrated across the country. I also paid tribute and bowed to him. He said that for some time, various political parties have been using blue color in their programs to woo Dalits, but only BSP’s blue color has an impact on Dalits. This effort of these parties will not succeed.
