New Delhi. US President Donald Trump launched another attack on Pope Leo XIV after facing strong criticism from his core Christian voter base. He claimed that Iran has killed more than 42 thousand unarmed protesters. He said this when the Pope appealed for talks on the ongoing dispute with Iran. Trump again reiterated that it is absolutely unacceptable for America that Iran has a nuclear bomb. In a post on Truth Social he asked if someone would please tell Pope Leo that Iran has killed at least 42 thousand innocent and unarmed protesters in the last two months. Along with this he said that it is not at all acceptable for Iran to have a nuclear bomb. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Earlier, Trump had refused to apologize to Pope Leo XIV after publicly criticizing the Pope’s stance on Iran and domestic issues. Trump criticized Pope Leo’s stance and indicated that the Pope would be unhappy with the results of his administration’s policies, further increasing political and diplomatic tensions. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said that he will not apologize to Pope Leo. I think he’s very weak on offense and other things. Responding to these provocations on Monday, Pope Leo XIV emphasized his commitment to spiritual advocacy rather than political confrontation and said he had no desire to enter into any confrontation with the US administration. Asked by reporters on the plane to Algeria, the Pope said: “I think people who read will draw their own conclusions.” I’m not a politician, I have no intention of getting into any debate with Donald Trump. He reiterated his resolve to focus on global harmony and said instead let us always seek peace and end wars. I am not afraid of the Trump administration. The Pope stressed that his message is based on faith rather than politics and warned that the Gospel should not be misused for political purposes.
