Horrific road accident in Andhra Pradesh early morning, Bolero collided with truck, 8 devotees died on the spot

A heart-wrenching road accident took place in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday morning. At least eight pilgrims were killed and several others injured in a massive collision between a Bolero vehicle and a lorry near Chilakladona. These devotees had gone on a pilgrimage and after the accident there was a wave of mourning in the atmosphere.

According to the police, five people died on the spot, while three others died on the way to the hospital. The injured were immediately admitted to Emmiganur Hospital, where their treatment is ongoing. This accident happened with pilgrims from Chikkamagaluru region of Karnataka.

How many people were affected in the accident

About 10 to 12 people were also injured in the accident. Officials said that the injured were immediately taken to Emmiganur Hospital for treatment. Police further said that the deceased have been identified as pilgrims from Chikkamagaluru region of Karnataka. A video after the accident has also surfaced.

Prime Minister Modi expressed grief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over this accident. He has announced financial assistance for the families of the deceased and the injured. PM wrote in a post on social media platform X, the accident in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh is extremely sad. I express my condolences to those who lost their loved ones in this accident, and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The PM further wrote that on behalf of PMNRF, an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured will be given Rs 50,000.
