New chapter of women empowerment: PM Modi gave message with verse on special Parliament session, said-"India’s daughters will illuminate the world"

Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the special session of Parliament starting from Thursday is a ‘historic step’ towards strengthening women empowerment in the country. He underlined the government’s commitment towards advancing the dignity and representation of women in public life.

Modi said in a post on social media platform

Invoking a Sanskrit verse, the Prime Minister said, “May you arise and illuminate the world with your rays. The sages of the Kanva dynasty have invoked you with their hymns for prosperity and abundance.”

Modi’s comments come as Parliament is holding a rare special session that is widely expected to take up major legislative measures, including proposals related to increasing women’s representation in legislatures.

The government has consistently presented such initiatives as part of a broader effort to ensure inclusive growth and gender equality. Modi’s message ahead of the Parliament session underlines a vision that positions women empowerment not only as a policy priority but also as a matter of national pride and cultural ethos.
