Vignesh Shivan shares reason behind cancellation of his film with Ajith Kumar: ‘ I wished to work on that script as I…’

Director Vignesh Shivan revealed the reasons due to which his film with Ajith Kumar did not move forward. Their collaboration was supposed to Ajith’s 62nd project, but the actor later collaborated with Magizh Thirumeni on Vidaamuyarchi (2025).

In an interview with Behindwoodsthe director said, “In 2018, when Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) was supposed to be made with Sivakarthikeyan sir, I was asked to change certain parts of the story. But I couldn’t do that, because I am a story centric director.”

He added, “There is a difference between a person spending a few months on a script, and a few years on a script. For all the films I have directed, I have worked on their script for a minimum of four years. When Podaa Podi was released in 2012, I had the script for Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal ready. But I worked on Naanum Rowdy Dhanso I was able to work on every nook and corner of Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal‘s story.”
