White House’s big statement on the Great War, we did not ask for extension of ceasefire, Trump’s Red Line created panic in Iran, Pakistan is the only helper
News India Live, Digital Desk: Amidst the ongoing tension between America and Iran, the White House has made its strategy clear. Press Secretary Caroline Levitt has rejected all speculations that America has sought to extend the ceasefire. Levitt said in strong words that the news of ceasefire extension is merely the result of ‘bad reporting’ and at present America’s entire focus is on meeting the demands of President Donald Trump. America has given clear indications that if Iran crosses the ‘red lines’, the consequences will be serious. Pakistan becomes the ‘sole’ mediator, the negotiation table will be set again in Islamabad. The White House has accepted Pakistan as the ‘sole mediator’ in this dispute, ignoring the offers of other countries around the world. President Trump has also confirmed that the next round of talks can begin in Islamabad within the next two days. Earlier, after the talks held on April 10, Trump had mentioned a two-week ceasefire. Now there is a discussion in diplomatic circles that this ceasefire, which is ending on April 22, can be given some more time for a diplomatic solution, but America has officially refused its demand. The screw is stuck on these 3 disputed issues, is Tehran ready to bow down? According to the officials engaged in mediation efforts, at present the talks rest on three main points. First- Iran’s nuclear program, second- security of the strategically important ‘Strait of Hormuz’ and third- compensation for the losses suffered by Iran during the war. America has made it clear that it will not make any compromise on its own terms. Caroline Levitt warned in a subdued tone that it would be better for Iran to accept President Trump’s demands, because the talks are now at a crucial juncture. Amar Ujala Special: Is Trump’s ‘pressure game’ working? Political experts believe that Donald Trump is following his policy of ‘Peace through Strength’. On one hand, he is ready to go to Islamabad for talks, on the other hand, his press secretary’s refusal to demand ceasefire shows that America wants to maintain psychological pressure on Iran. The role of Pakistan has become most important in this entire incident, because it is considered to be the only reliable link between the two superpowers. Now the eyes of the whole world are on whether any major agreement will be reached before the deadline of 22 April.
