Rahul Gandhi’s funny style in Lok Sabha: ‘There is no problem between the Prime Minister and me regarding wife’
New Delhi, 17 April. During the heated debate on the Reservation and Delimitation Bill for women in the Lok Sabha, a light-hearted moment emerged on Friday when Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi mentioned that he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were unmarried. He said jokingly – ‘There is no problem between the Prime Minister and me regarding my wife…’
On the second day of the special session called to pass bills related to delimitation and increasing the number of Lok Sabha seats, Rahul Gandhi said in a light-hearted tone, ‘All of us have been influenced by every single person present in this room, the women in our lives, mothers, sisters and wives. Have learned a lot from him and gained a lot from him, as Rijiju ji has said. Of course, the Prime Minister and I do not have that wife with us, so we do not get that information. But we have our mothers and sisters. Yesterday I was sitting and watching my sister succeed in doing everything in five minutes, which I probably could not do in my 20 years of political career.
This is not a women’s Bill.
It’s an attempt to change the electoral map of India, using and hiding behind India’s women.
I want to assure my friends, brothers, and sisters across the country – do not worry. We are not going to allow them to attack the Union of India.… pic.twitter.com/ppe6S4iHjQ

Women’s Reservation Bill will never empower women
Speaking against the Women’s Reservation Bill, Rahul Gandhi rejected the government’s claim that the bill will empower women. He said, ‘This has nothing to do with the empowerment of women. This is an attempt to change the electoral map of India. In fact, this is a shameful act.”

The Congress MP warned that the way the government is implementing the quota for women (33 per cent reservation in Parliament and state assemblies) is actually an attempt to change the electoral map of the country through delimitation. He said it was a ‘nervous decision’ so that Prime Minister Narendra Modi could show that he is pro-women. Especially before voting in Bengal and Tamil Nadu, where women voters play an important role.
