Constitution Amendment Bill fails in Lok Sabha: BJP accuses opposition of being ‘anti-women’, know what Shivraj said
New Delhi. The 131st Amendment Bill of the Constitution could not be passed in the Lok Sabha on Friday. A two-thirds majority was required to pass this bill, but the government failed to garner the necessary support. During the voting, 298 MPs voted in favor of the bill, while 230 MPs voted against it, due to which the bill could not be passed. After the failure of the bill, many BJP leaders targeted the opposition.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan wrote in X Post, “April 17 is a black day for the country’s sisters and democracy. The Congress and Indi alliance once again betrayed the country’s sisters and cheated its daughters. The Prime Minister and the Home Minister had proved every apprehension of the opposition baseless. They had made it clear that there would be no injustice and no harm to any state. But the anti-women opposition did not agree.”
He said that today only one bill was not dropped. Today the hopes of the sisters were dashed. Anti-women Congress and Indi Bloc crushed the efforts of sisters’ empowerment. The sisters’ dreams were shattered. Their desires were trampled. They destroyed the potential within them and hurt the sentiments of Shakti Swarupa sisters.
She further said, “The thinking of Congress and Indi Bloc is – ‘Woman, you are only weak’. In the golden period of independence, when the immense potential of women should have been utilized in building a developed India, the opposition has committed the sin of suppressing that very power and destroying it. By defeating this bill, the entire opposition including the Congress has put the last nail in its coffin. Now the sisters will come out on the streets and destroy the future prospects of the Congress. Will crush and destroy.”
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav wrote in the X Post, “Congress and its allies have shown their true colors. Congress opposes women empowerment.” Gajendra Singh Shekhawat wrote, “A dark day for India. The Women’s Reservation Bill was defeated by Rahul Gandhi and his Congress faction, exposing their hypocrisy on women’s empowerment. They refused to give ‘women power’ the respect and representation it deserves and thus insulted millions of Indian women.”
He said that instead of speaking on women’s reservation, Rahul Gandhi wandered into absurd stories here and there, just like a student writes anything in the exam copy because he has no real answer. When the country expected clear thinking, he just created confusion. When history needed strong leadership, he tried to divert attention.
Shekhawat further said, “The whole of India is watching all this. The women of the country are also watching all this. They will have to pay a heavy price for this childish politics of Rahul Gandhi and it is possible that Congress may never be able to win the trust of women again.”
BJP’s National General Secretary Vinod Tawde wrote, “Insult of women is the hallmark of Indi alliance. For years, Congress and its partner parties limited women empowerment to only slogans and speeches. When the time came to give real rights to women, the same people stood up in protest, this is the truth of their politics.
This protest is not just against a law, but against the rights and dignity of half the country’s population. It is clear that for them, women empowerment is not more important but their own power and selfishness. The country has now understood everything. The women power of the country will give a befitting reply to the opposition which opposes the sovereignty of the country while opposing the government.
Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, “The Congress, the CPM and their indie allies have committed a historic betrayal of the women of our country. By voting against the implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act in the Lok Sabha, they have proved our point: their fear mongering over delimitation was just a poor excuse to stop women from giving them their 33% political representation in legislatures. The women of Kerala and India are watching all this, and they are deeply insecure, Will never forgive anti-women alliance.”
