Big action by ED in Punjab: Early morning raid on the premises of Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, created a stir in politics.

Ludhiana. There was a stir in Punjab in the early hours of Friday when Enforcement Directorate (ED) teams simultaneously raided several locations including the residence of Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora. Under the strict surveillance of the Central Security Forces at his residence in Ludhiana, the officials of the investigating agency were engaged in thorough scrutiny of the documents.

According to sources, this action is being taken regarding old cases related to money laundering and alleged irregularities in land deals. It is being told that the investigation is not limited to Ludhiana only, but other places associated with the minister have also been raided simultaneously. ED teams are examining records related to financial transactions and properties.

It is noteworthy that even before this in October 2024, Sanjeev Arora had come on the radar of investigating agencies. At that time he was facing serious allegations of converting industrial land into a residential project. Then he was a Rajya Sabha MP, whereas now as a cabinet minister, this action taken against him has further intensified the stir in the politics of the state.

Earlier, investigating agencies had also raided the premises of Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal. During the crackdown, which took place in several cities including Jalandhar, Phagwara and Gurugram, officials seized digital evidence and computer systems and conducted a lengthy investigation.

However, in both the Sanjeev Arora and Ashok Mittal cases, the Enforcement Directorate has not yet shared any official findings or details of the seizures. But these continuous actions have increased the turmoil in the politics of Punjab and have also deepened the concerns of the ruling party.
