New sugar mills will open in Bihar, great news for 2 districts
News Desk. Good news has emerged for sugarcane farmers and local youth in Bihar. The state government has decided to set up new sugar mills in Bhagalpur and Banka districts. The objective of this initiative is not only to promote sugarcane production but also to strengthen the rural economy and create employment opportunities.
With the opening of these sugar mills, many new employment opportunities will be created at the local level. Apart from direct jobs in the mills, people will also get work in transportation, farming and other supporting activities. Along with this, the income of farmers will also increase.
Search for land intensified
The government has intensified preparations to launch this scheme on the ground. The administrations of both the districts have been instructed to identify suitable land. In Bhagalpur, land is being searched in areas like Peerpainti, Kahalgaon, Sanhaula and Goradih, while work on the same process is going on in Banka.
100-100 acres of land required
Let us tell you that about 100 acres of land will be required for each sugar mill. Once the land is finalized, construction and other formal processes will be carried forward. This will pave the way for starting the project soon.
Farmers will get direct benefits
Sugarcane farmers will get the most benefit from the opening of new sugar mills. They will not have to depend on far-off markets to sell their crops. Farmers will be able to sell their produce directly by reaching the mill, which will save both time and cost.
The government is also planning to provide grants to farmers to encourage sugarcane farming. This will attract more farmers towards this crop and production will increase.
