Sensational incident in Kangra: Fatal attack on taxi driver, thrown into the forest
Himachal news: A sensational incident has come to light from Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, where a taxi driver was fatally attacked and thrown into the forest, considering him dead. However, the driver’s life was saved due to the prompt action of the police and two accused have been arrested in this case.
Police investigation started after complaint
On April 19, Pratap Singh, resident of village Padela, Post Office Tehri, had lodged a complaint in police station Majhin that his elder brother Mehar Singh is a taxi driver. They had left home on April 17 by taking a taxi, but did not return for two days, after which the family contacted the police.

Investigation revealed that on April 17, at around 1:30 pm, two youths had hired Mehar Singh’s taxi to go to Gagret. The accused have been identified as Amit Kaushal (23) and Suresh Kumar (19), who are said to be residents of Tehri area.

Police investigation revealed that there was a dispute between the driver and the two youths over some issue near Kaloha. After this the accused attacked the driver with a knife and tried to murder him by strangulating him with a rope. Considering the driver dead, both the accused threw him in the forest and ran away.
Police’s swift action saved his life, accused arrested
Himachal news: The police acted swiftly on the basis of technical and physical evidence and arrested both the accused. On his information, on April 19, the injured driver was recovered from the forest, whose condition was critical. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and after first aid, he was referred to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda.
